vodka is a competitive World of Warcraft raiding guild on US-Stormrage that lives by one mantra; every day, a day better. From the top down everyone is driven by that truth and it has led us to our consistent long-term success. We are a guild that is never satisfied with ourselves and always striving to be the best.
Our guild was founded during the original release of World of Warcraft. From that time to present day vodka has always been a force to be reckoned with in the raiding scene. While the server and people have changed over time the tradition and core values remain the same. Our desire to be the best and our standards of excellence are unwavering.
Currently vodka is stronger than ever and has a longstanding core of leaders and members. Our dedicated officers are always looking to improve the guild in new ways and take vodka to the next level. Every member of vodka loves the game, is active and on the cutting edge of competitive game play in their class. One of our keys to success is building a fun, friendly community atmosphere that people enjoy so that our turnover rate is exceptionally low. Our guild has developed into a tight knit group of likeminded players, all with one focus; to be the best and do whatever it takes to achieve that goal as a guild.
Vodka has a lot to offer to potential applicants. The first is leadership. Our guild is run by a group of highly motivated, competitive, talented, smart, dedicated players who always go above and beyond for the guild and every member, they provide structure and stability which allows raiding to be fun, smooth and more importantly efficient. The second is player development. We dedicate a lot of time to our recruitment process and each applicant. We look for likeminded people with the most potential that are respectful, but can hold their own in a challenging environment. Vodka has a core of outstanding and knowledgeable players who are not only looking to improve themselves, but the people around them. Many people join as above average players and take their game to the next level here with support and insight of current members. The third is fun, active community atmosphere. Meshing well with our guild is a must as an applicant, as that chemistry is invaluable during progression. Our guild has some great people that have a lot to offer. The friendships you develop here add a lot to your WoW raiding experience. Vodka is a place you can call home.
Maintaining a solid team atmosphere is very crucial to us, we like to socialize during, before and after raids - even during off days. vodka members all know one another, we do not consist of a bunch of cliques, instead the entire guild is a whole - no one is left out. Regardless of our close-knit atmosphere we have no problem welcoming newer members to our guild and making them feel like they are part of the team. Learn to take advantage of that when you are accepted into the guild, however, do not be overly friendly when you have only been in the guild for a couple days.
We do not recruit for the bench. Everyone in the guild sees raid time whether it is progression or farm.
vodka raid invites always start at 8pm EST. During progression we will raid as late as 1:00am. After progression is complete we will be raiding 2 to 4 days(depending on how fast we clear content) until new content comes out. We do not raid as much as the general public thinks we do in comparison to other top guilds, everything in this post is exactly what you should expect when you join our guild.
The following is our schedule during progression, it is possible that raids will be extended if we know we can get a boss down if we raided later than usual. It is also possible we will start raids earlier than 8 if required.
--We do not raid during holidays(the actual day(s) of the holiday)--
Monday: 8:00pm - 1:00am
Tuesday: 8:00pm - 1:00am
Wednesday: 8:00pm - 1:00am
Thursday: 8:00pm - 1:00am
vodka awards all loot via loot council. We distribute loot based on many factors, including raid attendance, seniority(how long you've been in the guild), and previous loot received. There are also other factors, but they are not listed here because they often change.
Our goal is to put the loot where it will best serve the guild from a raid progression standpoint, we do not punish members for taking items that are not their best in slot but still a fairly decent upgrade. We place a high value on loyalty and attendance, and tend to award the best items to individuals that have proven themselves to be trustworthy and reliable.
Our application process normally lasts about four weeks. However, it can be extended if we feel we have not challenged your abilities enough.
We expect all applicants to be able to maintain close to 95% attendance during their trial period. We expect all members to maintain 90% attendance. We also do not like having to go through the trouble of having to do extra things just to reach you, you do not have that privilege as an applicant. You need to be reachable especially if you are sitting out, however that shouldn't mean we need to go out of our way to get you in the raid.
We understand there are situations where people can't raid, that is completely understandable. If we expected everyone to be here 100% of the time we would only have 25 people in the guild. You can miss raids, it just can't be happening so much that it's noticeable.
We want you to want to be in our raids, and we will invest in you as much as you invest into us. As a guild, vodka strives to be the best. If you are coming in for a boss and you are confused with the way we execute it you are better off asking questions than going into a fight not knowing what to do.
Being a good player and learning to get to know the guild beyond the raids, trying to know the guild as a whole whether it's pvping, talking on vent, doing something in game, playing another game - anything. We are very big on guild community.
Remember we cannot always respond quickly to your application even if it is very good. It depends on how much we are currently raiding or if we are discussing other potential applicants. It can be a few days or even a week to get a reply on your application, so do not be discouraged if you have not received any responses. Interest level is also a factor. If you take longer than someone else to reply to us we might get to them first.
If we like your application we will schedule a time to get you on our mumble for an interview.
Our interviews are very relaxed. We only do this to get to know the applicant before asking them to transfer. If you get to this part you already have a high chance of getting into our guild, unless there is something clearly obvious to us that shows you won't be right for our guild.
Interviews typically last from 30 minutes to an hour. We also let the applicant ask any questions they may have at the end of the interview. We will state at the end of the interview whether or not we want you to transfer.
